Sid Jacobson is a respected commodity markets, trading and risk management business leader with 25 years’ of experience in the energy sector and financial markets. As a partner with SunGard Global Services' (SGS), Mr. Jacobson leads SGS’s Dodd‐Frank Act compliance, trade surveillance and risk management consulting.
In his career, Mr. Jacobson has also led risk oversight, structured transaction negotiations and organizational redesign to help merchant energy companies emerge through financial restructuring, enter new markets and complete mergers and acquisitions. He has also helped transform and enhance numerous energy market strategies, risk management and controls framework and commercial trading operations. As a consultant, trader and risk manager, he served on several corporate risk committees.
Prior to joining SGS, Mr. Jacobson was a managing consultant in PA Consulting’s Energy Strategy and Risk Management practice. He was also the first risk manager for Delmarva Power/Conectiv Energy, responsible for centralizing commodity activities and managing their energy market risk management and controls framework. Mr. Jacobson began career as an options trader as a member of the American Stock Exchange and New York Mercantile Exchange for Chicago Research and Trading. As a marketing executive for NYMEX, he was responsible for launching electricity and natural gas futures and options.
