Peyman Mestchian BEng MSc MBA FIRM
Peyman is Managing Partner at Chartis overseeing research strategy, key commercial relationships and advisory services.
Previously, Peyman was the CEO of Risk Technology International (RiskTech) where he led the development of this international consulting firm with significant presence in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle-East and Africa. Key areas of focus included credit risk, operational risk and enterprise risk management. In 2009, Peyman facilitated the trade sale of RiskTech to global IT services firm Hexaware Technologies.
Before joining RiskTech, Peyman was the Global Head of the Enterprise Risk Management Practice at SAS covering credit risk, market risk, operational risk and financial crime solutions. Peyman was instrumental in setting strategy and leading the execution of a global business plan which generated $100m+ of revenues in 2006 and included over 120 Basel II wins across the world.
Before joining SAS, Peyman was a Director of the Business Risk Consulting practice at Ernst & Young (London) and was also a member of Ernst & Young's global taskforce for developing new products and solutions for addressing enterprise risk management. Over the last 15 years Peyman has been involved in numerous board-level consulting and implementation projects establishing risk management systems for leading banks, insurance companies and industrial organisations.
Peyman has acted as lead advisor in a number of the high profile mergers and acquisitions in the risk technology space. He is experienced in supporting private equity led transactions as well as trade sale opportunities.
His special area of interest and research is the application of information technology to risk management and he is an established thought-leader and writer on the subject. He has been interviewed by top media outlets such as Risk Magazine, OpRisk & Compliance, Banking Technology, Financial-i and Global Risk Regulator. Peyman has a Bachelors degree in computer science, a Masters degree in human-computer interaction from the University of London, and an MBA from London Business School. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management (FIRM).
