John Omahen is vice president of Post Trade Solutions at SunGard and is responsible for sales and product strategy for SunGard’s post trade derivatives products. During his more than 15 years in the cleared derivatives industry, he has worked with global, regional, and local investment banks and Futures Commission Merchants to develop and support their clearing and accounting infrastructures.

After graduating from the University of Chicago in 1996, Mr.Omahen was invited to join SunGard’s management training program.  Over the next 12 years, Mr.Omahen managed global development, implementation and business analysis teams for Stream GMI and related post-trade products, based out of Chicago, New York, London and Hong Kong.  For the next three years, Mr.Omahen was responsible for the GMI product management division and was asked to take his current role in May of 2011. He currently represents SunGard in industry groups, user forums and regulatory panels and serves as SunGard’s subject matter expert on Post Trade clearing and settlement.
