Clifford (Cliff) M Lewis is an executive vice president of State Street Global Markets, State Street’s investment research and trading arm. He is responsible for the e-Exchange Business – including the Currenex and Global Link suite of solutions – which provides electronic trading solutions for foreign exchange, precious metals, cash US Treasury securities, futures, swaps, money markets and exchange traded funds (ETFs). Lewis also oversees State Street’s futures commission merchant, which provides clearing services to clients trading futures, options and swaps. Mr. Lewis joined State Street in 2006 as part of the acquisition of Currenex, where he served as Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Lewis has more than 25 years of experience in international finance. He was a Management Board Member for CBOT-EUREX Joint Venture, Inc., and ran electronic trading during his tenure at CBOT. Mr. Lewis also served as the Chief Operating Officer of BRIDGE eMarkets, a unit of Bridge Information Systems; various senior positions in the International Financial Services Group at KPMG Peat Marwick; and from 1978 to 1991, he worked for the World Bank Group where he managed high-level strategic planning and global operational assignments.
Mr. Lewis has bylined numerous articles in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, Atlantic Monthly, and National Interest. He is a graduate of Harvard College.
