There are many global cross-currents now buffeting the Canadian economic outlook. These include the U.S. Federal Reserve ending its aggressive stimulus, renewed concerns about Europe’s soft growth outlook, Japan’s reform measures, a cooling economy in China, as well as geopolitical turmoil on many fronts. Canada also faces many challenges, including the lofty housing market, still high household debt, and a struggling manufacturing sector.
