Dom Inwestycyjny BRE Banku S.A. (BRE Securities), the broker arm of Polish BRE Bank Group, part of the Commerzbank financial services group, has selected SunGard’s Valdi together with the SunGard Global Network (SGN), SunGard’s international trading cloud, for international trading and connectivity.
BRE Securities’ traders will use Valdi’s advanced trading tools, including basket trading and arbitrage modules, along with the Valdi order management suite, giving them a powerful engine to help handle the increased volumes expected on the WSE’s new trading platform. The SunGard Global Network will give BRE Securities direct access to a global community of more than 2,000 buy-side firms and more than 530 brokers, facilitating both international order routing and Polish capital markets access for its customers.
“We are facing changes on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and needed a technology provider that we could depend on for many years to come. SunGard’s expertise and flexibility, combined with their strong knowledge of the local and regional capital markets, proved to be key assets.” – BRE Securities Deputy Director Marzena Lempicka
BRE Securities is one of the most active participants on the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) for both equities and derivatives, and was the top futures trading firm on the WSE in 2012, ranking third for options trading and seventh for equities trading in volume.
Poland is one of Europe’s most dynamic economies, with the ambition to become a key regional financial center for Central and Eastern Europe. SunGard is helping fast-growing firms like BRE Securities implement and immediately leverage the latest technology on their home exchange, while giving them access to new opportunities around the world.” – Philippe Carré, global head of connectivity for SunGard’s capital markets business
