Prominent China-focused Fund Will Gain Capability While Reducing Operational Costs
Imagine Software, a leading provider of real-time portfolio and risk management solutions worldwide, today announced that DTC Investment Management (DTCIM) has selected its award-winning Derivatives.com ASP service for comprehensive, real-time portfolio and risk management, with particular emphasis on customized reporting functionality, scenario analysis, and reduction of operational costs.
DTCIM—a research-driven fund management firm specializing in Chinese absolute return investments, with offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai—realized it was time to further enhance its proprietary applications and benefit from the much more robust performance only available in a real-time risk and portfolio management system. In selecting Imagine’s vendor-managed ASP service, DTCIM gained needed business functionality and easy scalability while simultaneously cutting system support and maintenance requirements, allowing it to focus on its core investment business.
“Imagine’s ability to deliver a reliable, flexible, and function-rich hosted solution—coupled with its extensive experience across the Asia-Pacific region—immediately stood out when we were evaluating different systems in the market,” explained Yuhong Gao, executive director and head of Risk Management at DTCIM. “In servicing our institutional clients, we employ a wide range of techniques and instruments to control risk and enhance returns. Therefore it was imperative to have a system in place that could fully support our investment approach. Imagine fit the bill perfectly.”
According to Yuhong, among the advanced capabilities that convinced DTCIM to step up from proprietary applications were Imagine’s customized reporting functionality, ability to generate comprehensive portfolio statistics, and sophisticated scenario analysis capabilities—all of which better supports the firm’s investment decision-making process. As an added benefit, Imagine’s rapid implementation process had the system up and running in production status within a month of contract signing.
Yvonne Dahl, global director of Sales and Marketing at Imagine, said, “Today’s leading firms focus on maximizing returns through better portfolio and risk capabilities and lowering operational costs, something that Imagine is very well positioned to help them achieve. The addition of DTCIM to our client base is yet another indication of the continuing growth and sophistication of the Asia-Pacific market. We are very excited to be working with DTCIM, well-recognized for its innovative and successful investment strategies in China and across the region.”
