John Gammer has been appointed head of Clearing Sales at Eurex Clearing, the clearing house of the leading international derivatives exchange Eurex, effective November 1st 2007. Gammer will be based in London reporting to Thomas Book, executive board member for clearing. Eurex Clearing received the status as Recognized Overseas Clearing House from the UK regulator Financial Services Authority earlier this year and aims to expand its equity clearing services to provide customers access to the relevant markets in Europe.
Gammer joins Eurex from LCH.Clearnet where he focused on relations with Euronext.liffe. He previously held Global and European management positions in ETD Operations (exchange-traded derivatives) with Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers respectively. In addition Gammer chaired the Futures and Options Associations (FOA) Clearing & Settlement Steering Group and held the position of vice chair for the Futures Industry Association’s (FIA) European Chapter.
