On Demand webinar – listen now!
In a webinar, members of the Asset Managers Forum explore how standardized position identifiers will streamline pre and post-trade processing for cleared derivatives and address inefficiencies created out the introduction of new market entities. Tune in to hear the business case for the new position identifier.
The operation ecosystem of OTC derivatives has changed significantly with the introduction of CCP clearing, trade execution via SEFs and trade reporting requirements driven by new financial regulation. The introduction of these new entities and thus new pre- and post-trade processes creates operational challenges for derivatives market participants. One such challenge is the inconsistency of key data elements across entities involved in trade support processing for cleared OTC derivatives which brings greater operational risk and inefficiencies across the trade lifecycle. To tackle this data problem, the Derivatives Clearing Standardization Working Group (DCS WG), part of the SIFMA Asset Managers Forum, has established a new initiative to standardize position identifiers from a global perspective.
In a DerivSource webinar, participants from DCS WG will explain the new position identifier standardization initiative and how use of this standard will significantly reduce inefficiencies in the processing of cleared derivatives trades in the overall end-to-end business process across the market.
Attendees will learn:
- What is a position identifier? Why is it needed? What are the drivers behind this initiative?
- What is the scope of the position identifier initiative?
- What are the challenges in implementing position standards?
- What are the benefits for individual firms and the industry as a whole in adopting this standard?
- What is needed to get this standard implemented globally and across all market participants?
- How do we get started?
OTC derivatives operations, risk and trade support professionals at various institutions are encouraged to attend this webinar to learn more about how the proposed position identifier standards can help address inefficiencies within their own organizations.
