SimCorp, a leading provider of investment management software and services for the global financial services industry, has released SimCorp Dimension version 5.3. Included in the many new and enhanced features and functionality across the enterprise-wide system are: reverse stress testing providing increased risk management, collateral substitution enabling better forecasting and improved control, as well as multiple hierarchies allowing for separation of compliance information.
The importance of risk management has continued to rise in the aftermath of the financial crisis and the introduction of a number of new regulatory requirements. Version 5.3 provides robust stress testing to help users improve risk management and regulatory compliance. The introduction of new reverse stress testing includes relevant loss scenarios and intuitive tables and charts.
SimCorp Dimension version 5.3 further advances back-office functionality by automating time-consuming and labor-intensive manual processes. A number of new modules as well as several enhancements enable users to optimize processes while complying with industry standards and reducing costs and operational risks related to manual workflows. In the settlement area for example, the newly streamlined collateral substitution process allows users to reduce collateral shortfalls and save time. Users can forecast events on outstanding collateral, which improves control over the collateral substitution process.
The new version delivers innovative and robust functionality for the front-office. By having ‘multiple hierarchies’, firms can establish stringent security protocols throughout the compliance function, resulting in vastly improved authorization features. Additionally, enhancements to the compliance manager deliver improved usability and productivity.
SimCorp Dimension version 5.3 is part of SimCorp’s semi-annual release schedule. Additionally, SimCorp introduced a new licensing model and maintenance program in September 2012 to further meet client demands for simplicity and increased value. The new model streamlines licensing of SimCorp’s solutions by moving from a model based on hundreds of modules to new role-based solutions. The enhanced maintenance program introduces benefits such as license transition credits and enhancements to the semi-annual software releases.
SimCorp’s CEO Klaus Holse comments: “SimCorp Dimension version 5.3 brings increased value to our clients. Among many new features, this latest version includes comprehensive usability improvements as well as updated regulatory compliance capabilities. Unrivalled by our competitors, SimCorp continues to invest more than 22% of annual revenue in a single product, SimCorp Dimension. This demonstrates our continued commitment to providing our clients the solutions needed to generate alpha and outperform their competitors.”
The next version of SimCorp Dimension will be released in August 2013.
