Firm Taking the Leading Role In Regulatory Reform Consulting Services
In order to support growing client demand for solutions to regulatory reform, Capco, a global business and technology consultancy dedicated solely to the financial services industry, announced today that Sean Culbert has been appointed a partner and co-lead of the firm’s Finance Risk & Compliance (FRC) practice.
Mr. Culbert will be based in New York City and will report directly to Tom McKelvey, global chief operating Officer of Capco and the lead of the North American practice. He will share leadership duties with Michael Pugliese, co-lead of the FRC practice and a Capco partner.
Prior to Capco, Mr. Culbert led the risk and compliance practice at another top-tier global consultancy, where he provided risk and compliance solutions across the financial services industry and to major US regulatory agencies. Earlier, he was a managing director and head of the Global Compliance Solutions practice at BearingPoint where he similarly provided strategic and technical solutions to global financial institutions and regulatory agencies.
With over 20 years of industry experience, Mr. Culbert has supported major global financial institutions on risk and compliance strategy, including architecture and technology platform implementation. Additionally, he has delivered next generation risk and financial management platforms for major US regulatory agencies.
“I’m excited to join Capco at a time of unprecedented demand for strategic guidance and unique solutions to the challenges brought on by new global regulations,” said Mr. Culbert. “Financial institutions need to begin taking action now to avoid playing catch-up later. Additionally, it is imperative that firms are as informed as possible as they undertake critical decisions related to the strategy and structure of their response to regulatory reform. Left unchecked, inflexible actions without an overarching plan could prove to be misguided when the final lines are drawn in the sand. With Capco’s support, I look forward to working with the FRC practice to help our clients meet the challenges ahead and forge new opportunities.”
“Sean brings the deep critical and strategic thinking our clients have come to expect from Capco and we are very proud to have him on our team in what is sure to be a transformational year for our clients and for Capco,” said Mr. McKelvey. “Complying with new global regulations, and understanding how they will affect business strategy, is a top priority for our clients. With Sean and Michael co-leading the FRC practice, I have no doubt they are in very good hands.”
