Jean-Paul Gauzès, EPP Group Spokesman on Economic and Monetary Affairs
The EPP Group in the European Parliament has welcomed the proposals by the European Commissioner for Internal Market and Services, Michel Barnier, on the regulation of derivatives and short-selling.
"These proposals lay the foundations for a necessary regulation as part of the framework of the action announced by the Commissioner to draw the consequences on the financial crisis and set up a system to prevent other crises", said Jean-Paul Gauzès (UMP, EPP, F), EPP Group Spokesman on Economic and Monetary Affairs.
"The EPP Group congratulates Michel Barnier and his services for their reactivity and will support these initiatives in the European Parliament", Jean-Paul Gauzès concluded.
