-Sophis RISQUE 6.0 expands asset class coverage and incorporates a dedicated environment for risk managers to support investment banking requirements
Sophis, a leading provider of cross-asset, front-to-back portfolio and risk management solutions today announced the launch of version 6.0 of RISQUE, its trading and risk management solution for investment banks. In addition to a major technology transformation, RISQUE 6.0 has significantly extended its asset class coverage and now incorporates a dedicated environment for risk managers.
The dedicated risk management environment has been specifically designed for risk managers to allow them to accurately compute scenarios, store results and manipulate them in a scalable and flexible manner. Thanks to its dynamic interface and grid computing technology RISQUE 6.0 can handle multiple risk calculations and scenarios. Its integrated reporting capabilities can automate the reporting process for senior management as well as enabling drill downs into specific report views. New capabilities also include the ability to provide detailed analysis on market data, Greeks, transaction and day effects to outline the main contributing positions to P&L variations.
This new release also sees the extension of the asset classes supported by RISQUE. The solution now offers increased coverage and new functionality for:
-Bank loans: term loans and credit facility pricing and management;
-CPPI: risk indicators, pricing and index management;
-Equities: Volatility Index (VIX) and VIX options and futures management;
-Fixed income and rates: IR spread options and exotic payoff for swaptions;
-Nostro Management;
-FX options and non deliverable swaps;
-Easier pricing and management of structured credit products.
RISQUE 6.0 has undergone a major technology transformation to improve system performance, responsiveness and usability. The core system architecture has been upgraded to the Microsoft .NET framework and will benefit from enhanced reliability with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and an improved end user experience with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Windows Workflow Foundation (WF). In addition Sophis has strengthened its Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) approach to enable remote access to RISQUE 6.0 via the web.
Ian Warford, director, Securities and Capital Markets, Microsoft EMEA comments: “Sophis is taking advantage of Microsoft’s latest technology innovations to provide an enhanced user experience enabling front office traders and risk managers who need to be able to slice and dice data quickly, and run complex scenarios to manage a variety of risk exposures.”
Samer Ballouk, global head of Product Management and Business Development at Sophis adds: “We consult with our clients continuously to ensure that the products and services that we provide are in line with their requirements. It is fair to say that investment banks have been through challenging times over the past couple of years and require robust technology platforms that can support portfolio and risk management tools, provide accurate reports and cover the widest possible range of asset classes. By developing this new version of RISQUE, we have made a step change – not just in technology, but also in additional support for risk managers and a broader coverage of asset classes.”
