Numerix, the leading independent provider of advanced analytics for the derivative and structured products market and Lumina Americas, a regional consulting and technology services company servicing Latin America and Spain, have announced a partnership which combines Numerix cross asset analytic libraries for the pricing, valuation and risk management of complex derivatives with Lumina Treasury and Operations, Lumina’s front-to-back trading and risk system.
Lumina will offer Numerix’s suite of industry standard pricing models and risk analytics integrated in a new module of its Lumina Front offering. Numerix analytics suite is a complete cross-asset solution covering the fixed income, credit, foreign exchange, hybrids, cross currency, inflation rate, commodities and equity derivative asset classes. The Lumina Treasury – Derivatives & Structured Notes Module fully supports trade capture, valuation, sensitivities, trade events, P&L, risk management, reporting and back office events.
The module also supports the flexible definition of new structured note issues, with tools for either cloning existing deals types or modeling completely new structured products. Lumina users can also use Numerix’s Excel-based solution for structuring, deal prototyping and definition. Once a new deal is defined in Numerix’s Excel-based solution, the Numerix generated XML can be uploaded into the Lumina Derivatives and Structured Notes Module. The application allows for a fast Time-to-System of new structured notes issued or traded by the financial entity, with consistent pricing and valuation through the lifecycle of the trade.
“We are very excited to be offering our cross asset analytics within Lumina Treasury as we continue to receive greater demand from the Latin America and Spanish market for transparent pricing, valuation and risk,” said Steven R. O’Hanlon, president and voo of Numerix. “Lumina’s integration of Numerix provides users the flexibility to maneuver today’s markets with the transparency, independence and operational consistency necessary to meet internal and regulatory controls.”
“By integrating Numerix into Lumina’s calculation engine, we have dramatically extended the asset scope into Lumina Treasury, allowing a standardized mechanism in the application for incorporating new complex derivatives and structured notes without need to release new pieces of software,” said Gustavo Amor, president and ceo of Lumina Americas.
The Lumina Treasury – Derivatives and Structured Notes Module can be used as a separate front office solution coexisting with other corporate systems via customized integration with other risk, accounting and settlement systems.
