Markit, the leading provider of independent data, portfolio valuations and OTC derivatives trade processing to the global financial markets, has appointed Anna Mazzone as head of sales and marketing for BOAT, the MiFID compliant trade reporting platform. Markit has managed BOAT’s business operations since January this year.
Mazzone joins Markit as a director reporting to Mike Rushmore, executive v.p. and global head of sales and marketing. Her responsibilities include the distribution of BOAT’s three key services:
- BOAT Trade Reporting which will enable clients to report their OTC equity trades in compliance with MiFID
- BOAT Data which will allow clients to view OTC equity market data, and
- BOAT Datafeed, a service designed for algorithmic trading.
Prior to joining Markit, Mazzone worked at SuperDerivatives for two years where she was responsible for European sales and customer support. Previously, she was a senior vice president at Reuters responsible for global accounts and product management.
Rushmore said: “I am delighted to welcome Anna to the Markit BOAT team. With twenty-two of Europe’s largest financial institutions already subscribing to the platform, BOAT will provide a comprehensive view of the European OTC equity market. Anna’s knowledge of the market data sector will prove invaluable as she communicates the benefits of BOAT’s unique dataset to financial institutions across Europe.”
Mazzone said: “Much has been said about the burden that MiFID is putting on financial institutions but there has been little discussion about the opportunities it will bring. BOAT capitalizes on these opportunities and I look forward to developing the sales effort around this innovative product in the coming months.”
